On the initial screening S pneumoniae type 6 was isolated from the T piece connector of the face mask (figure). Repeat examination ofthe same facemask and connector seven days later yielded S pneumoniae type 6 from the thread of the T piece, which was contaminated with secretions encrusted in it.
